Beaten by Norway again!

According to the United Nations Human Development Index (HDI) - 2012 Rankings Norway is the best developed country in the world.

The data used to create these indices are shown in this diagram:


What does Norway do so well? They must have a very comprehensive welfare and/or education system. (on the bright side Australians have a longer life expectancy than Norwegians )

The UK is 26th on the list, I was surprised to see countries like Ireland at #7 I thought the current economic crisis might badly affect countries like Ireland but it appears not.

If you click on each country on the list the data for it opens up if you then click on one of the criteria that expands to give more details, it is very interesting..

It is interesting isn't it? such a lot of data in one place.
