As life progresses, it is natural that folks lose parents and siblings, as such who is left, and who knows you well enough to Vouch for you, for example, if you were falsely accused of a criminal offence.
Were you as good as you thought you were, and who is around to corroborate the version of your life?.

Aside from family, I do have some close friends who have known me for decades. I count myself fortunate in that regard.

It is a strange thought that, after such personal losses, only the survivor has a record of events that dictated a life, and no one to back it up.

One could keep a journal I suppose.

It may or may not be of interest to anyone who happens upon it. I don't know that anyone vouched for Thoreau's accounting of his 2 years living as a hermit on Walden Pond, but it does make interesting reading.

The best of us and the worst of us will have their biographers. I know my life won't have much impact and that really doesn't bother me.

I have a fairly large circle of friends - any one of which I know I could count on to 'vouch' for me. Amongst those friends is a Solicitor.

Does anyone have any paperwork to back up WHO they are, a bit like service history with a car. I have my old school reports that state my behaviour was impeccable, and I had the makings of a Mathematician, not sure they were describing me, what documents has anyone else got.
