girl freind

Hi I am new and I joined because of this challenge I am facing. My 30 yr old son is finally getting married to a girl of his choice after lot of pestering from me. But he is spending an extra ordinary amount of money on ring for her and the vacation he is taking her to. If i ask or suggest, he just gets very upset with me . I dont know how to handle this

Hello Yes I agree with the other posters, he is an adult and, like it or not, has to make his own decisions. Although if you had to pester him to marry her then not sure how this works!

Re: girl freind

Hello kimsy I have learnt with children to give an opinion only when it is asked for and to let them make their own decisions once they become adults.

Yes agree with others, give opinions when asked but don't expect them to listen and juts be there is it all goes wrong, which hopefully it won't in this case.

Re: girl freind

You sound a little too over motherly to me and by your own admission you've already pestered him into the decision to marry her,so you now need to back off and let him make some of his own decisions as it is he that will have to ultimately reap the results, good or bad...

Re: girl freind

Hello and welcome Kimsy.
I know how it feels, I nearly gave up on my two, my daughter was 3I and my son was 36 before they married, I was nearly at the point of giving up when they made up their minds. I always thought it best never to interfere because if I did I would be the first to get the blame if something went wrong, just let him get on with it, besides a good ring is a good investment, gold, diamonds, and platinum never go down in value.
