I feel awful reading about the price of your glasses. I got some reading glasses from something like Specsavers and they cost me £75 for 2 pairs.
My bingo and PC glasses I buy from Wilkinsons for £2.99 to £5.99 and have about 20 pairs of those. I don't need them for walking around just concentrating on things like a screen.

I have to have prescription though Sandy, they soon charge less if you buy the frames as well ! So, the lenses cannot be expensive .....

That's what was explained to me once when I wanted to keep my old frames anyway.

I'm not too clued up on opticians prescriptions but do you take your prescription with you, just like your doctors one, so that you can get it filled anywhere?
My optician charges around £200 for my varifocal lenses.
Surely the lenses are the most expensive part .. it is a specialist job.

Yes you take your prescription with you, if you 'buy' the frames, the lenses then become £40 to £60 ......

I bought a pair of the ones that darken and lighten on their own too. Just before Christmas from Vision Express. £139..

Went to Vision Express this morning to check their price.
For thin and light and tinted lenses - put in my own frames = £138
So 'Boots' wanted ..... £205 for the same request !!
