Re: Today, I went back to my erstwhile hobby..........

I can sit (comfortably) in my reclining armchair and with the curtains pulled back across the balcony door, can watch the birds (Herring Gulls, Magpies, black birds, green finches, pied wagtails, and Starlings) on the flat roof above me - no more than 20 - 30 ft from where I sit.

No Parakeets ? we get them here. What a horrible screeching noise they make

In comparison to the screeching of Hewrring Gulls Rachel darlin' - they are nothing. Got rudely disturbed at dawn this morning (around 04.30ish) by the Gulls when they awoke (they nest amongst the chimney pots above me).
