Holiday Disaster.
We normally take our holidays in July before the school holidays here in Baden Württemberg. This year as we have we went to the Bodensee in the south. We were very happy when we could have a place directly on the water and faced our annexe to the water. It turned out to be a huge mistake. We were hit one night with one of those storms that happen every fifty years. Our annexe was destroyed but thankfully we were not some fifteen to twenty meters to our right where a tree came down. There were two people in the caravan but miraculously came out unhurt.

Sorry to see the damage done , but as you say a lot luckier than the others .A Tree fell on our living Trailer when we were travelling , it happened during a Thunder storm early one morning . We never parked next to a tree again ..
The experience lives with you always ..

Thankyou for your concern. Ours is the tiny caravan with the annexe folded over the top. The annexe is a total right off but considering what had gone before, that's really not important. We can buy a new annexe. The lesson learnt from our point of view is to camp back from the water and try to stay clear of trees. Our boat was also damaged after flying through the air but again I'm thankful it didn't injure anyone. Boats can be repaired.
