Re: What time do you switch your TV on?

Ah the innovative A Class, nice. The current A Class seems like a step back, too conventional, though well implemented.

Re: What time do you switch your TV on?

Ffosse, I hold my hands up. During the winter months the television in the front room, plus the small one on the wall in the kitchen, are both turned on when we have our first cup of tea in the morning, and the one in the front room remains on all day until we turn it off when retiring to bed.

Half the time we aren't even watching it. Even when HWMO returns with the daily papers, we sit there reading them with the tv on in the background. It's so silly but to us it's the same as having a radio playing in the background, except it has film to go with it. If there is any breaking news, we stop what we are doing and watch it. Brexit is so interesting at the moment, as are the goings-on with politicians, so it's the news channel that is always on.
Either that or Netflix or something that we have recorded.
(or HWMO's bloomin War Films that he has recorded.)

Ridiculous I know, but there you are. each to their own. I long for the Spring and Summer months when the tv only goes on for an hour each morning for the news channel, to ensure we don't need to put our tin helmets on and head for the bunker. Once we know we are safe for yet another day, the tv stays off and we bathe in sunshine. .

I put my TV on at 12.15 for Bargain Hunt & then the news. I sometimes watch TV in the afternoon as well, but if not then it goes on again at 5.15 for Pointless & the news. I sometimes watch it after that if there are programs I want to see.

Re: What time do you switch your TV on?

To me it seems wrong to watch TV during the day unless I"m ill. I don't watch a lot these days as I go to bed at 9 and it's only between 5 and 9 that I'll perhaps watch something. Even then, I'm usually on my PC as well so don't understand the plot content of whatever programme is on.

I didn't have a TV for 9 years until June last year. At first it was wonderful, then I added a DVR but I've got so many recordings that I never get round to viewing.

At present I"m downloading films from iPlayer onto my phone because it's supposed to have a special wide colour gamut that makes videos pop. I probably won't get round to watching them, either but it's OK as I've noticed that they auto delete after a certain time depending on the film.

I don't watch tv during the day normally. After a shower and getting comfy, I turn it on for a program or, more often, the world news station or CNN. There is a new drama on, The Fix, that I have started watching, I may be hooked already!

I like Escape to the Country...I record it or watch it if I'm home...it's on at 3pm.

I like The Chase too...I like to see the contestants at the beginning when they say how old they are and what they do....I'm often shocked at how old some folks look...even young folks.....I sit in judgement like lady muck

I watch that too most days & the repeats on other channels. I love seeing those lovely homes that the customers diss. Some of the contestants are so fussy. Most never buy a house anyway. Location, location, location is better, at least you see what they do buy. I prefer that program.
