The Brecon and Radnorshire By-Election

This one should prove interesting.

Rumour has it that the Lib Dems will get it and cause the Tories to lose their seat because a lot of the constituents are Welsh sheep farmers who don't want to leave the EU because it would be detrimental to their livelihoods.

On the other hand, they will vote Tory because Chris Davies has done a good job since 2015 and got caught out over a silly mistake on his expenses. Plus, their constituency voted leave (marginally) in the referendum and Boris has promised to make sure their farming is looked after post Brexit.

Interesting times ....

Plaid Cymru also expecting to do well because public attention is turning to the question of Welsh Independence.

I'm not sure if Plaid Cymru are fielding a candidate - I could be wrong.

I think I heard they are standing down to help the Lib Dems gain the seat.

Latest Odds:

https://www.oddschecker.com/politics.../winning-party

Liberal Democrats 1/9

Conservatives 11/2

Brexit Party 125/1

Labour 500/1

Greens 999/1 (Not Standing)

Plaid Cymru 999/1 (Not Standing)

Apparently, Lib Dems are shortening while Cons and Brex are drifting .....

Tactical voting, the nonsense continues.

With the current state of UK politics tactical voting is more appropriate than it ever has been.

Re: The Brecon and Radnorshire By-Election

Better not to vote, tactical voting is a natural result of an electoral system which denies the electorate sufficient choice to vote both for a candidate and against a candidate, for a party and against a party.
