Kashmir should not be part of India anymore than N. Ireland should be part of the UK.

Ulster, or at least Rump Ulster IS part of the United Kingdom .

Edited to add the basis of Pakistan claim to Kashmir is down to this.

Firstly there is track record of mozzies reneging on treaties right from when old mo broke the treaty of Hudaybiyyah and so breaking the treaty that was the basis of the creation of Pakistan is hardly breaking new ground! (Sorry about the intentional pun)

Secondly the basis of their illegal attempt at land grab is on the number of mozzies now IN Kashmir, nothing more.

On that basis we'd better look out because of the density of mozzies in parts of our towns and cities.

Aren't the issues here about religion?

It's about land .
Both lay claim to Kashmir.
But it's also about religion .
The Hindus and the Muslims don't get one despite the fact the were once all Indians .

Only insofar as India had to be split in order to minimise the inevitable conflict that Islam creates when it can not dominate and eventually take over other peoples.

It was to minimise the conflict that partitioning India into two separate nations India (proper) and Pakistan which was the islamic state.

In the case of Kashmir the treaty that was the foundation of Pakistan had Kashmir as part of India but now Pakistan is trying for land grab because of the number of mozzies now living in that part of India.

I was trying to understand your comment about race/racism relative to Kashmir.

See post #24

But do keep in mind that to a mozzie our understanding about nationality is not the same as theirs. Nor do our borders.

Check out "Dar ul-Islam" as an entry point.
