Re: World War II

If Britain had been invaded in the early months of the war, Churchill had set up auxiliary units to fight geurilla style warfare, special underground bunkers were built , extremely well hidden, some however were discovered accidentally and were immediately abandoned, these auxiliary units were led by one officer, one of the men in the unit had an unusual task should invasion happen, his first order was to kill his own commanding officer, as he was the only one who knew the locations of all the bunkers under his command, should he have been captured and inevitably tortured, he could give that information away, many were ex poachers and gamekeepers who knew the land well.

Can't be proven JBR, That's just a guestimate !!
Other sources suggest the emperor was about to ask for an
armistice and America brought forward the atom bomb attacks to
avoid this ??

i don't know for certain, but i suspect that those who jeered the Queen at the unveiling of Harris's statue were the young and uneducated people who had no 1st hand experience being "BLITZED".

Harris WAS a war criminal. Of that there is no doubt.

Yes, I've seen that and responded. As others have said, there is nothing there, even if it can be proved, to compare with the German's activities in killing Jews on such a wholesale scale.

With the help of US arms and supplies :

400,000 jeeps and trucks
14,000 airplanes
8,000 tractors
13,000 tanks
More than 1.5 million blankets
15 million pairs of army boots
107,000 tons of cotton
2.7 million tons of petroleum products (to fuel airplanes, trucks, and tanks)
4.5 million tons of food
Also ammunition, explosives, copper, steel, aluminum, medicine, field radios, radar tools, books

Stalin quote from 1943 :

"“I want to tell you, from the Russian point of view, what the President and the United States have done to win the war. The most important things in this war are machines. The United States has proven that it can turn out from 8,000 to 10,000 airplanes per month. Russia can only turn out, at most, 3,000 airplanes a month. England turns out 3,000 to 3,500, which are principally heavy bombers. The United States, therefore, is a country of machines. Without the use of those machines, through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.”

There's one hell of a lot there if it's used as a starting point.

But when it comes to the Nazi top table, in fairness not just us Yids.

Gypos, Poufters, assorted political opponents, lunatics, quite a few others beside.

Lend-lease was a disgrace.
