Customer Service - again

Watching a docu on the London underground system
The workers in the ticket office had been there years and 'loved' their job
Now the managers have decided no more ticket offices so the poor workers now have to stand all day 'helping' bemused customers.
The customers are queuing a long line waiting to use all of 4 ticket machines
Why - is this, the workers are still there helping to sort the confusion - what is the point !
At Asda today - I wanted to return an item at customer service desk - to be told, we don't open till 9.30 on a Wednesday now

It really does make you wonder doesn't it although I am still bemused by a delivery from AO yesterday they arrived at 7 am my alarm doesn't go off till 8 am apparently their 6.33am email explained it all but obviously I wasn't up for that either

The bane of my life.............airports. at check in they no longer take your luggage, you have to DIY at separate machines where someone is on duty telling you what to do. Why can't he be behind a desk checking in your luggage ?

Julie, your post made me chuckle! I had two deliveries (1 failed, because I wasn't expecting it) at around 11pm, from Yodel. I'm normally in bed by that time.

Same with Asda when they wanted you to use self service tills so only opened one staffed check out - what were the remaining staff doing ....? Standing around in case you needed help with self service

Yours made me chuckle too they wouldn't get any answer here we are all comatose by that time

I thought every business was expected to stick to a strict 2100hrs cut off.
No customer contact after this time.

It's true, isn't it, that all these trendy 'money-saving' ideas that they come up with are probably the product of the imagination of someone sitting behind a comfortable desk and who has no idea of what really goes on in real life?
