add a few grains of uncooked rice to them

Using rubber gloves or a damp cloth to remove dog/cat hairs from fabrics.

mine is great to keep warm I use whie rice put in a pillow case tie it up zap it for 4 min stays warm for a long time I always take it to bed keeps my bed warm and you can sink your feet it

Heat marks on polished furniture......
Make up a paste using cigarette ash and olive oil. Apply to the damaged area and then rub off. This is extremely effective for heat stains on polished surfaces. Alternatively pour a little Linseed oil on the damaged area and then sprinkle with sugar. When the sugar is absorbed just wipe off

that does sound like a great tip pixie i will try that

I would love a electric blanket for the winter months but we have a very thick memory foam mattress and you cannot have a heated under blanket with memory foam

Complete opposite.....hate wearing rubber gloves, but will wear one when doing this job. As we have a leather sofa, there's no need, but it's great for doing the stairs.
