Flooding.....

The river Don is about to burst its banks, it is about a mile away from my house and it appears we are on the edge of an area likely to be flooded by the morning.

Mexborough and Sheffield are already under water, and shoppers are stranded in Meadowhall Shopping Mall and told to stay put and not try to leave.

Heavy rain is still falling and the record levels of the river in 2017 (when it burst its banks last time) will be broken before morning. And there's bugger all on 't telly.....

That’s awful for you Foxy living under the threat of flooding. I hope it by-passes you somehow.

Goodness Foxy!
That doesn't sound good at all.

Stay safe, and hope the rain stops soon. x

Thanks Arty, it's never flooded here before, I do live on 'Meadow RISE' and if we do flood most of the housing estate will be several feet under water being lower than us.....

How awful Bob, here's hoping it doesn't reach as far as your house.

Stay safe, keeping my fingers crossed for you...

Re: Flooding.....

Ouch Foxy - that is nasty. I hope you will be OK. Having had the River Ouse flowing 5ft deep through my previous house I know only too well what devastation it can cause. Look after Mrs Foxy and your pets (?) - stay safe.
