Did anybody have any storm damage last night?

The weather forecast had said we should expect some thunderstorms, so I knew I would have to keep my cats calm. They seemed to settle but lashings of rain & some wind did disturb my night.
I thought I had got off lightly until I went into the garden this morning!..... I found a large elder tree ( about 17 feet high) lying on my garden.

Not what you expect to find in the middle of June, is it?

Sorry to hear about your tree Twink, nothing here.....
I actually slept like a log.....But then I usually do....
Very humid and mild this morning with an early morning mist.
Nice for running.....

I don't have close neighbours but my house is surrounded by farmers fields so it is very fertile ground!
If the birds drop seeds I often find new trees growing so, if they are in a convenient spot, I haven't the heart to cut them down.
Looks like the storm didn't have a heart when it knocked this one down!

Gosh Twink that's scary thank goodness the tree wasn't any nearer to you.

We didn't have a storm yesterday just a small one on Friday afternoon and we desperately need rain here.

It wasn't far from the house Meg, but fortunately the wind blew it away from the house.
Elder trees thrive here, so perhaps I should make some elder flower wine!

Gosh.... that must have been a shock to wake up to, Twink

No damage here but the rain was heavy, it was like mini rivers in the gutters.

Sorry to read about the tree, Twink. Good it landed flat & not on your roof.
We had rain but nothing dramatic here, it doesn't feel like Summer though, it's chilly.
