Re: Furlough

Hi

There are a lot of people on furlough.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/...e-on-furlough/

They are not out all out demonstrating.

I am quite happy to see all those demonstrating and breaking the distancing rules having payments stopped.

Re: Furlough

It’s a great way for some employers to rip off the government ie the tax payers who will have to pay for it .

Re: Furlough

All got to be paid for . Our children and grandchildren will pay for this for many years to come . Highter taxes , vat , and more taxes introduced.

All very concerning . And yes it must stop now

Re: Furlough

Hi

The government worked out it would be cheaper to pay it than let companies go to the wall.

Even with it we are going to have mass unemployment.

That's the theory but it fails to take into account two things. Those who will exploit the process and there are many ways that can be done and I've no doubt it is being done by long thousands and the way that businesses will be now running planned bankruptcy programs.

I am self-employed. I cannot go to work because there is no work to go to. The reason is entirely due to Covid.
Please explain how I am ripping off the country.

Where has someone in your position been accused of ripping off the country?

Re: Furlough

Two calls for furlough payments to be stopped on this thread alone.
