Re: Wasp nest

I leave wasps alone, they are pollinators and eat pests like flies and caterpillars .
I usually have a wasps nest in the attic, I don't think they are there this year.

Re: Wasp nest

Depends where the wasps nest is whether to leave them or not & if no small children about it shouldn't be a problem. If I had one here & I think I might, I would leave it as I have no need to go near it. The wasps flying around the garden are not bothering me. I am also very allergic to stings from bees & wasps but particularly horse fly bites the females love my blood.

Re: Wasp nest

One of the problems is the time of year. Last Friday was the third hottest day on record, so having to keep bedroom windows closed all day and night was rather uncomfortable

Artful. Will the wasps be asleep at night ? Is that why .? Genuine question . I guess if they were asleep and the nest was sprayed they wouldn't swarm to sting

Re: Wasp nest

We have one at the moment, it’s in the eaves and although we can see them bringing insects and parts of insects into the nest, they’re not bothering us so we leave them be, they’ll be going soon anyway, the queens leave the nest and the workers have to fend for themselves and they’ll start to die off come the firsts frosts ( not too far away),

Yes. Apparently wasps return to their nest at night.

Live wasps are sometimes used in BDSM.

Wouldn't fancy it myself but it takes all sorts.
