When you refer to Morris dancing/dancers, do you mean traditional such as Cotswold, or do you mean Border, or Dark Morris?

Some types of Morris dances are louder and more vigorously performed, even potentially more violent than other types.

Perhaps it's the gentle rhythm and movement of the traditional styles that attract some women.

Perhaps it's the "bad-boy" image of the Borderers with their short thick cudgels that attract women.

Perhaps it's the excitement of going over to the dark-side that attracts some women.

Or perhaps it's the chance to get out, have fun, and not worry where the next pint is coming from that attracts them.
