Depends on what size house is small. If 3 bedrooms etc, that would suit me, but it would have to be rural, edge of town or village, area is really immaterial as I'd never live in a bad area.

A medium house in an ok neighbourhood. But tbh bad neighbourhoods are often far more interesting. Real life instead of pretend life.

Then small house in good area, but I have never lived in a bad area, even Cippenham near Slough wasn't that bad, tho I hated Slough.

Dunno about a shed Meg, but I always used to see myself in a mobile home (or is it static home?) in a field.

Like Tiffany said, I too, would never live in a bad area from choice.
I'd never want to live anywhere where I'm afraid of the surroundings, or the neighbours, or just didn't feel safe.

I could live on a canal boat. I don't need much room and I could move around from place to place.

I know two men who gave up their house and bought a boat Judd.
They did it years ago, and are still on their boats to this day.
