Explosives, no. But during my time in ULSTER I learned a great deal about Fenian filth and their methods.

The mushroom cloud is commonplace with any massive explosion.

Mixed with ****** it is a slow burn low yield explosive that has to be triggered by a HE initiator that is set off by a very fast detonator.
Referred to as Co Op mix.

An electromagnetic pulse, is what knocked out the electricity. Reports that the blast was felt in Cyprus.

I find no reports mentioning EMP which is associated with the the detonation of a nuclear weapon, more than likely the shock wave caused the damage.

Unfortunately when the history of the last week(s) would suggest otherwise, all avenues have to come under scrutiny.

Lebanon's Hezbollah accuses Israel of fabricating border clash

Hezbollah denied its fighters staged an "infiltration attempt" that led to clashes with Israeli forces on Monday calling the Israeli account a move to create "false victories".
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disputed the armed group's denial of any border incident, adding "Hezbollah should know that it is playing with fire."
The Israeli army says it confronted an "infiltration attempt" launched by the Lebanese armed group in the border region of Shebaa Farms, which is occupied by Israeli forces.
The United Nations is urging both sides to show restraint.

It could quite probably be what caused the explosion, reports coming in say that work was taking place and a fire resulted that spread. I have read reports that the fire was the result of welding taking place but time will (might) tell.

Never miss an opportunity to stick it to Israel eh?

Never let facts or common sense get in the way of rabid hatred of Jews.

OFG, it does say Ammonium Nitrate. Massive amounts of it. I don't know the difference between any of them or what they are capable of , but said to be for making fertilizer.
The white building next to it , also destroyed has the grain reserves and another building destroyed makes the flour for their bread. All gone.

Another being interviewed said the Israel also have a store with the same stuff in it . Also facing the same problems.

If these sort of things are confiscated off ships, then they have to go through the legal process, and I understand that ownership is the most difficult to identify. So customs will not release .
Mind you when we were there,(70s) the customs were as corrupt as any criminal. They wouldn't allow us to dock until they had their 50 bottles of scotch and 1000's of cigarettes. The shipping companies were used to it and held supplies for that very purpose, as being kept out of port cost the companies a fortune . So they were compicit in encouraging criminal behaviour .
Anyway, they got their scotch and fags, we docked and then we got shot at !

Ammonium Nitrate; Sounds like nasty stuff Puddle Duck, and unusual. Most explosives need more than one ingredient to make a big bang.
And I don't think I'd be going anywhere near the middle east to get shot at, although this forum can be a dangerous place at times.....
