Having had the pleasure as a lad to collect the stinking warm blood from the slaughterhouse in a milk churn....then back to the shop and up to my elbows stirring the delightful ingredients in a huge bowl.....For some reason I've never had the urge to consume it.

I prefer white pudding as it's vegetarian. I can remember eating black pudding as a child before I knew it was basically dried pigs blood.My mother (she's 92) still eats black pudding with either an apple or rhubarb sauce. I think the continentals eat it this way.

I absolutely love black pudding, especially Irish Clonakilty Black Pudding.I usually have it grilled or fried with grilled or fried tomatoes. It is delicious.
Sometimes, it does cross my mind what it’s made from but l love it so much, l don’t care!!
They also do a White Pudding but it is too oniony for me.
