However, saying that, do we actually still need one ?

I'm not sure we do. So far Dover is ready as well as our other ports, citizens rights are being implemented, open skies are sorted, hauliers and vehicle licenses etc etc.

The Ireland ? ... we just don't have a hard border. We can implement laws that will make it a serious offence to smuggle non-conforming goods as a deterrent and move goods freely between all EU countries and the UK electronically as we do now.

Out we go.
Hi

There are still obstacles for Boris to sort for us to leave on October 31st, it is not at all clear cut at the moment.

The date of any election has yet to be fixed, Boris could just carry on without one.

The Lib Dems are the remainers, Labour has not got a Policy.

The Remain Vote is split, Labour and Lib Dems have said they will not form a pact.

As regards the rest, many of the issues you claim are sorted are not sorted at all.

The EU has given temporary, time limited concessions so as not minimise the effect on their Economy.

These are not deals, they are Unilateral EU decisions.

On leaving day they are imposing tariffs so there will be hold ups.

Lamb exports will be hard hit as we will not have a quota, fresh fish and shellfish will also be hit.

We do not have enough qualified to sign the sanitary and phytosanitary certificates.

These are not reasons to Remain, just relevant practical issues.

Boris has done an awful lot to get us ready in a very short time.

He does not have a Magic Wand.

Why do tarrifs mean hold ups???

Does zero tariffs on certain goods mean they are imported quicker?

Hi

Because Tariffs mean paperwork and checks.

Foodstuffs will be subject to Health Checks.

Tariffs are per consignment , not per HGV.

To see how complicated it is just look at the EU Tariff Schedules for different cuts of meat.

The EU will be checking.

We will have to wait and see how much disruption there is, not long to go now.

Please explain, and make it simple.
Since april, october 31 is set as the date the UK leaves the EU. The deal to leave in an orderly fashion has been rejected by the house of commons. Since there is no other deal on offer, leaving without a deal seems to be the only alternative. Boris promised he would go so far as to leave by crashing out.

But. But parliament has made a law that makes it unlawful for boris to leave without a deal. They force him to request an extension to the EU membership till januari 31 2020.

During the extension a general election will be organised. In the unprobable situation the libdems get a majority, they promised to revoke article. If not, probably a referendum will be held again. That will necessitate another extension, till mid or end of 2020.

In conclusion, no need to prepare for brexit. You will enjoy a membership to the EU for some time.

Just a couple of queries on the above Swimmy?
First if they apply tariffs we do the same?
Second we shouldnt have a problem with the the fish thing
as we are taking our fihing back under our control! Arent we??
And the meat exports is covered by us applying a tariff to
their stuff, l believe our gov has allready agreed to provide
support to our farmers for a couple of years to tide them
over in case eu turn shitty!

Of course you knew this all along, familiar as you are with boris and the tory party, but a politician misbehaving like this still is a shock for me.
