Gravy with Pie? Well, from someone who cannot make pastry to save her life, we very rarely eat Pies,(apart from fruit pies made using frozen pastry) especially in the warmer months, but when we do, it's usually an individual Pukka Pie, Steak in Ale, which we usually have with baby new potatoes, sliced green beans and carrots, and because there are no juices to make a home-made Gravy, I buy a packet of Shwartz Roast Beef Gravy, which is really tasty. (I buy the Shwartz Pork Gravy for Chops too, and Shwartz Onion Gravy for a Ham Hock). Definitely no Domestic Goddess here!

All for an easy life.

Sounds nice SSG....if I make a lemon meringue pie..I always make sweet pastry base..it is so easy ....my hands are warm also...when making pastry..

Well I did wonder, having seen your sense of humour. Everyone to their own then I guess, but … I still cannot even imagine what that would taste like!

Maybe you need to be a little more adventurous in the kitchen.

What about chocolate and peanut butter kit Kat...they are yummy.

Tbh, you couldn't really taste it, it just sort of thickened the sauce.

Thanks for the link LD, I have to admit it does look and sound tasty enough. I guess that using dark chocolate means it's not as sweet as the usual light chocolate (I only know that as my granddaughter cannot eat light chocolate due to food intolerances). Perhaps out of curiosity I may give it a try some time.

When I saw the thread title, I thought it was a pop at our old chum Gravitas! Sorry about that, I need to get out more!

Ideas please?
Pork pie - brown sauce and a piece of cheese. Cut the pie from top to bottom to make four quarters and separate slightly. Put the brown sauce in the gap between the pieces then squeeze the pieces together so that the sauce pushes its way up the pie.

Haute Cuisine at its best.

Steak and kidney pie or a suet crust - onion gravy.
