Travellor horse races on the roads

They are often seen on the roads in Berkshire where there are large traveller encampments .

These horrible men charges the horses down the road hammering their legs and joints causing unto damage as well as all the rest of the stressful dangerous so called ‘sport’

Sadly horses are killed on the road in this way and sometimes even their useless owners.

It makes no sense having horses racing on a public road, must be legal so not a lot to be done.

Re: Travellor horse races on the roads

There was a program about Appleby fair the other day on TV. It was awful the way those horses were raced along the roads, one lad on a pony too small for him fell off in the rain & fractured his skull, they said after, he was bareback, no saddle. No protective headgear, I couldn't help feeling it served him right.

The travelling community do seem to be allowed to do just as they please. They can flout rules and regulations with impunity.

I course things can be done.
It’s because they are intimidating travellers .
If it were anyone else the police would be on them like a ton of bricks closely followed by the RSPCA.

You think these people care about the legality of what they do?

Nothing ever is done when it comes to travellers, as you say too many are intimidated to stand up to them so turn a blind eye. They fear nobody, and individuals who do challenge them usually find themselves in trouble.

They don't because police, local authorities let them break the laws. They get away with murder.
