I agree with you, on that one, DM.

The support coming out of these very large states is (IMO) often allied to who the largest voting groups, of their population, are.

For example, would the USA support the UK in the setting up of hard borders, etc, in Ireland?

Would the USA push towards Irish reunification rather than status quo?

Or will they only assist the UK when there's something in it for the USA?

That's the power of the USA - and the what the EU aspires to achieve.

Definitely think the voting system should change from ''First past the Post''and bring in "Proportional Representation". FPTP is so outdated. Of course it suits the two main parties for it to continue, but why, when we vote for someone in our local area, should it help in forming a government.

When we vote someone in as an MP, it should be to represent us locally. End Of. Not to form a central government that may not have any interest in what goes on locally.
