A number of people selected to go to Mars in 2024 to live - never come back ...... How is that possible and why would anyone agree to it

I'd be up there with no need of a rocket if there was a chance to meet G'kar, gosh I loved that character

Re: Anyone for Mars ?

Patsy I heard a young woman being interviewed about having been chosen to go to Mars and thought she was very brave to sacrifice her chance of a life on earth for an adventure into the unknown.
They were talking about reproducing in the low gravitation on Mars , it could lead to a modification of our species very 'brave new world' .

She is very brave - you would have to be cocooned somehow, no escape

Breaking news.

We are introducing a new way to solve the problem of youth unemployment-our latest policy is to broaden their horizons with a one way trip to mars.

When I read the news, I can think of a few people I'd like to see go to Mars on a one way trip

Re: Anyone for Mars ?

I don't know that it will actually happen as soon as that, there was someone talking about it on TV this morning, was only half watching but he was saying something to the effect that things like the effect of radiation and the effect of weightlessness have not been solved in the short term. It's sounds like it may take longer to make it possible but it will be interesting to see.
