I've done that for years and never had a problem with it spreading anywhere else.
Now she tells me

Re: Make your own Mixed Herbs

Dried herbs just don't have the right taste so I don't use them.

In the winter when there is a shortage of home grown herbs (sage/rosemary/ thyme are all still usable in the winter) I buy pots of fresh herbs then chop and freeze them in ice cube trays and store them in a bag ready for use.
It is also possible to buy ready frozen free flowing chopped herbs in some supermarkets, they are to be found in with the frozen vegetables. Waitrose have them .

I think they are better for some things, my herby crust pastry doesn't taste or look right with fresh also herby dumplings need dried ones. Soups and stews are better if you are slow cooking with dried IMO too.

Re: Make your own Mixed Herbs

Had a coupon for free Knorr Mixed Herbs Flavour Pot 92G from Tesco this week just used it for the first time and I have to say it was delicious. Bit expensive for everyday shopping at full price but nice for a treat.

I think if you are using dried herbs the freeze dried ones are best for both taste and colour..
These people are good, I use them for nuts and dried fruit ...

The one's I bought were lovely - they are about £10 each per 500g bag. I mixed them equal parts so hopefully they should last me a while... though I have been putting extra on
