Pizza.

So many pizza venues in my local city, some folks must like them, yet i have never understood why a bit of dough, tomato and a few toppings should command such high prices.

Just an open topped sarnie, or am i wrong ?

Re: Pizza.

I don't dislike pizzas but I would much prefer a wholesome sarnie to one anyday.

Re: Pizza.

Cheese on toast smeared with marmite for me.

I suppose the pizza joint with its bottles of lager is the modern day pub, a place for youngsters to meet up for the evening.

Re: Pizza.

I'm not over keen on Pizza, especially in this Country.

I remember though, sitting on the beach at midnight in Italy with a freshly cooked Pizza, it was heaven.

Re: Pizza.

I'll eat a pizza about once a month. I never get takeaways and places like Pizza Hut charge the earth, so it's generally a shop-bought one. I particularly like Asda's deli counter where you can choose what goes onto it for about £3.

Re: Pizza.

I love pizza - mostly make my own. Occasionally the pizza hut near me does a lunchtime special buffet - all the pizza and salad you can eat for £6:99p and I have been known to succumb!

Re: Pizza.

I dont eat pizza very often ,I enjoy making my own with toppings of cheese and ham or pepperoni....I sometimes buy a ready made one from the deli in Morrisons where I can choose exactly what id like on top but then on the thin base ones.

Notice they are about to limit the calorie count on these, may affect the flavour, or led to smaller portions to meet the law.

Re: Pizza.

This is my favorite pizza from Pepe's in CT. Neapolitan style.

note the crust; crispy, charred and chewy- real pizza crust, not bread.
Sausage topped-

This is the white clam pie- fresh clams, not canned-

So good- coal fired ovens, screaming hot.

I do agree, pizza is overpriced for the ingredients.
