Now that China has landed a probe on the moon....

Does that mean we can stop sending them £47M per year in foreign Aid?

I too question our foreign aid payments, including those to India.

It would be a useful exercise for some investigative journalist to work out just how much various countries have received as foreign aid from western countries, the UN, charities, and so on, and ask the obvious question of why they are still in the state they are

In fact if I had my way Britain's foreign aid bill would be reduced to just about zero

Me too because I really don't believe it reaches the people that need it.

Weren't we sending India £280m even after they said they didn't want it anymore?

Just a tad racist however, and most might regard me as right wing.

Re: Now that China has landed a probe on the moon....

I'd like to know why we are sending foreign aid to countries that are, or soon will be, ahead of us in the economic stature, notably China and India.

I'd also like to know why we continue to send foreign aid to a number of countries which we know for certain treat their inhabitants unfairly and divert our money to their rulers for their own personal benefit.

Most of all, I'd like to know why we continue to send foreign aid anywhere when we are in great need ourselves. I am thinking especially of our underfunded NHS and our dismally inadequate transport infrastructure.

The only logical reasons I can think of are our yearning to keep on good terms with countries around the world, especially when we shall be looking for trading partners after Brexit.

Hi

I am not against Foreign Aid in times of Natural Disasters.

I would hope that if we had one others would help.
