Eeeewww, just imagine the pong! Also, if they became domesticated, would you want one of them leaping onto your lap for a cuddle?
Again, seriously, they are creatures from a time gone by. They had their time on earth and they are part of our paeleontogical history and, as the creatures of today, they will pass through into obscurity and should most definitely NOT be returned. Indeed, Woolly Mammoths did live and co-habit with humans and they were as beautiful and docile of the elephants we know today, but just imagine if such a magnificient creature was brought back. It would be enslaved in a zoo for folk to gawp at rather than allow it to be free, which all animals have a right to do.
Imagine if there were zoos for humans. The playpen for toddlers, then a pen for teenagers who can't interact with their own kind; then we'd have one for 30 year olds who've been dragged away from their families etc through the years, then the old folk. Animals have their own families, be they zebras, lions, apes etc and they care about their own, just as we do, and it's appalling what humans subject animals to in the name of entertainment.
We should be focusing on the poor creatures that still remain today who are in desperate need of survival like tigers, polar bears, silver-backed gorillas, tuna, ruddy ducks, and many many other species who are seriously in danger of becoming extinct because of man's greed or lack of compassion and understanding.
