Hospital eye checkup

Just been this afternoon for the eye checkup and good news no change since last time. They actually said they cannot understand why I was stopped from driving originally. So I lost 18 months of driving experience for no reason.

I think the original eye surgeon was being over careful to protect his backside

Brilliant news realspeed. It's a shame you lost out for 18 months but I bet you are pleased to get back to the real world. Just avoid the A149.

Re: Hospital eye checkup

I did the DVLA eye test some time ago and passed that as well. it just makes me so annoyed the brutal way the original surgeon told me to stop driving there and then. No bedside manner just an order that had to be obeyed.

That is a big worry for me too ever since I had a detached retina. I was only stopped from driving for a few weeks after the op to repair it but it is a worry as my family has a history of Glaucoma as well. I have to visit the optician annually for tests

The problem is that I have a truck licence so I have to pass the eye test for each eye individually but so far so good. I suppose if they take my truck licence away it won't be the end of the world because I don't use it much, I could get away with only a car licence.

Hope you get back on the road soon.
