VE Day

Locally we seem to be going all out to celebrate VE day.

Are you putting up bunting and singing, "We'll Meet Again" at 9pm?

I'd have to make my own bunting as I'm not sure it's available locally.

We’re having a front lawn street party, although we will be doing it from our front window

Re: VE Day

Nope not doing anything Tess.

There's a house near me with bunting draped all along the fencing. I wondered why, perhaps it's because of V E Day.

Re: VE Day

Some of the shops here have displays in the window which is good considering they are not open to the public. There are no celebrations as we are in lockdown.

Re: VE Day

Nothing happening round here . I think with with all this trouble that has beset us ,it is the last thing on our mind . Mind you I will raise a glass to the brave people who went through it all . Must have been horrendous .
I am not so sure about Queenie giving one of her speeches ensconced in Windsor , while we are battling away .
if I may say so seems rather trite TBH.
*We will meet again* ,sorry it doesn"t cut it for me .Just idle words ,people have lost relatives & friends & cannot even attend their funerals
They have all scurried off to the safety of their estates ,IMO ,a poor show .
What can she do to help ,& it is not like those days of WW2 where George & Elizabeth were in Buckingham Palace .
