No it isn't during the Covid. Just to show how crowded the beaches can get at the best of times. We have about 70 beaches in Sydney and they are all like that in summer. But by and large people have stayed away. Except for tourists and overly entitled hipsters in Bondi and Manly on a few days. Australia has done and is doing very well with their covid management. Contrary to the popular image of empty spaces we are one of the most urbanised countries on Earth. Most of us live in 10 cities. So social distancing is as vital here as anywhere else. I think our health system has done a brilliant job with it. Every state premier has led from the front. Check the figures

The only good things about going to the beach during this time, is that there is usually a stiff breeze which keeps the virus moving passed the beachgoers AND , of course, the hot sun. The same number of people, crowded into an indoor space would be in much more danger.

I, personally, would not join such a crowded beach just yet.
