It could be part of the reason, for those with a mortgage.

So areas with high property/rental costs will have to rely on immigrant labour?

Immigrant workers will put up with poor temporary accommodation and work for a pittance. These people are being exploited. Time for it to stop.

It's by no means that simple. Many born here are in far more dire straits than immigrant workers. Those who come here are highly motivated, upwardly mobile and fill a much needed skills gap. They live five to a room because they are resourceful and good at networking. The exploitation happens when people work here illegally or off the radar. This will increase greatly if there is a crackdown on immigration. Because it will simply drive labour underground and into the hands of unscrupulous gangs.

Re: New Immigration System

Perhaps its just the terminology that is wrong, its publicised that Britain has a "Skill Shortage" maybe that should read Britain has a "No Skill Shortage".

And that is the Nib of the Gist.

British workers won't put up with the wages and conditions..............so Let's show solidarity with the Workers and demand that those terms and cnditions are put front and centre.

The money is there.........the NHS is better funded than ever.........it's just badly managed.

With regard to private businesses, they should not be allowed to suppress wages and siphon away profits by importing cheap labour.

A fair, living wage should be the first item on a business plan.
