Wetherspoon Two-drink limit

https://www.kentonline.co.uk/gravese...arents-220668/

This was debated on LBC last night, one caller suggested that if pubs were run by landlords rather than managers there would not be a problem.

Re: Wetherspoon Two-drink limit

Hmm ... drinking establishments really don't know what to do these days do they.

Stopped the smokers and exchanged them for family friendly places full of whippersnappers ... is it a scam to sell more food? One drink ration and only a second one with a sit down meal.

I never knew this ...
It is a crime for anybody in charge of a child under the age of seven to be drunk in a public place under the 1902 Licensing Act. A person convicted of this offence can be subject to a fine or up to one month in prison.

Is it a scam to sell more food? Maybe, but the staff cannot be expected to supervise customer's children. It is alarming seeing children playing around while staff are waiting at tables.

Oh, I must have misunderstood. I thought it meant to encourage responsible drinking in the parents.

Children have always and will continue to always be a pain up the rump when they're allowed into what used to be/should be exclusively adult leisure premises.

Landlords would be more responsible, managers are just interested in profit.
