It will take a couple of years for the chicks to come home to roost. Only then will you see whether the EU was beneficial or not. One thing certain is that the nasty exit was beneficial to your potential enemies in Eastern Europe. We will see if the good outweighs the bad.

unquantifiable, whereas the disadvantages were increasingly
obvious and disadvantageous?
