Storm Dennis.

Hi

I do not know what it is like for others, but here it is far worse than the last one.

My Arial has gone, bent over as have others.

We have shed roofs and tiles coming off.

Standing water on the roads and paths.

The Drains at the front cannot take the volume of water, I have a pump going to spray it out to the back garden and onto the playing fields at the back.

I will not get flooded, I feel sorry for those who will.

Re: Storm Dennis.

Aerial poles on properties around ours are bending to the will of the wind, as are the trees but none have snapped yet. No tiles or slates gone either although the tiles on our roof are jumping up and down a bit.

Re: Storm Dennis.

Winds very strong up here now. Glad I thought to put up an extra-strong TV aerial pole when my chimney was taken down as part of a roof replacement. Glad I had that done too, the old slates used to clatter like maracas in the wind.

Re: Storm Dennis.

Ciara took the felt off of our flat roof last week and we could only make temporary repairs until the insurance assessor had been round, so although the repairs are holding in the wind we have rain driving under some of the joints and water is now dripping into the kitchen. Not good, but nothing I can do now until it eases.. Buckets and towels are the order of the day then, I just hope the ceiling holds overnight...

I'm sure you already know this Barry but I'll say it anyway; if water is pooling in the ceiling and is starting to bow, make a hole in it so the water runs out and straight into a bucket.

I hope all goes OK.

bloody hell, I hope not.

Swimmy, it's peeing it down here and very windy. Some people not too far from me have a power cut, fingers crossed we don't lose power.

Stay safe everyone and stay behind closed doors.
