Have one for holidays but who on earth would want a 600 watt kettle that takes five times longer to boil than a normal 3000watt quick boil plate element kettle and only holds a dribble of water?

I didn't know they were that slow to boil. As you say, probably not worth it.

My sister recently bought a kettle that changes colour as it boils at the cost of around £45! I thought it looked a bit tacky to me and not at all robust but she loves it. The colour it changes to matches her kitchen, or something along those lines. She is very colour co-ordinated.
