Making Bread.

Hi

Got an absolute bargain on Amazon, 500 grams of yeast for less than £5

I need to mix it with 100 kilos of strong flour.

Advice please.

How do I fit it in the oven

Re: Making Bread.

Do you have a brick-built garage or outbuilding?
Just build a bonfire fire inside and keep it going for forty eight hours, clean it out, chuck in the dough, close the door, and let the hot bricks do the baking just like old fashioned brick ovens did a couple of centuries ago.

With difficulty!

Swimmy, Make sure you eat it all on the first day when it’s at its nicest.
Or you could freeze it? Now there’s your next problem!

Have you got a few fishes to go with it? If so, you could feed the multitude!

Re: Making Bread.

Swimmy if it is fresh yeast you only need about 15grams for 500 grams flour (half as much dry yeast ).

If you portion the yeast it will freeze .

If you had been in SA with an alcohol ban, there’s only one thing you’d be making with yeast and that’s Pineapple or Ginger Beer
