Curiosity

Why is it that some people who love watching Butterflies fluttering about - have a fit of the vapours if a Moth flies anywhere near them?

Thank you, Smiffy, I had not thought of that aspect!

Re: Curiosity

That is strange, both are a bit Grubby at the start, but, one of them has never had a cake name after them.

True - 'Moth Bun' doesn't have quite same ring to it - but why would that put the frighteners on anyone?

Re: Curiosity

Don't know, a Moth is just an albino Butterfly, with Balls.

Re: Curiosity

I'm one of those who has "a fit of the vapours" if I spot a large moth indoors - but then if a butterfly found its way indoors, I would have the same reaction. I have no idea way, I know it's irrational. I can only think that it's learned behaviour because my mother was terrified of them.

If I'm outside, I'm far more tolerant of both species - unless they get very close, then I'm on the run...

I'm the same. Definitely learned behaviour from my mother.

Re: Curiosity

My ex husband told me that moths are just... dust.

He used to call a butterfly... a flutterby.
