No star on BBC Christmas Tree?

Or is it my imagination?

Maybe it's just me but I am yet to see a traditional star or angel atop BBC Christmas Trees.

There's obviously been a fair few squid spent on trees and baubles but I've not noticed any star atop any.

If it is just me - then my bad, or is it deliberately done so as to not offend those who object to any association between the Winter Holiday and Christianity?

wouldn't surprise me but I'm offended they would take away that star for that reason, but does it matter that I'm offended? Nope.

Re: No star on BBC Christmas Tree?

You don't have to have a star or fairy/angel on a Christmas tree. Christmas trees aren't religious at all. They have just been adopted by Christianity in the last two hundred years. When I was a child we had a topper that was like a bauble with a pointy peak. They don't seem to sell them any more. It was like this but with a traditional bauble glaze. I'm sure they used to sell them in Woolworths. It was a lot easier to put on the top branch than the alternatives.

I think it’s your imagination.
There was a star on the top of the Christmas tree outside the BBC and inside the foyer of the BBC this year and all over the trees, there has been more stars than you could shake a stick at.

I have a small knitted Santa on the top of my tree. It was knitted by one of my elderly customers many years ago and given to me as a tip.
