Like Surfermom, I have a bit of ketchup on the side. I do not salt them however. If they are fried well, there may be salt in the oil.
I dislike a limp french fry....or crisps to you foreigners.

Don't you just hate/love it when someone passes you on the street with a bag of chips...ohh it sends me diving into the nearest chippy.

I always ask for neither, none to be added, I prefer to add my own salt, The chip shop people always add too much, I like to taste the chip not a load of salt. I never have vinegar.

Chicken salt is the best but gravy is a nice second. Chips are always salted when you buy them but vinegar is rarely used here.

Yep, remember Ponch, Salt first because, being ham fisted tend to shake that salt in a concentrated area so use the vinegar to disperse it.
