Nice post and you are so right! As far as I know, Mr. Collins never felt short-changed but incredibly fortunate. It was something we took for granted to have been raised among some very well-known men whom we just considered to be a regular bunch of dads (which is a credit to them).

Everyone, well, nearly everyone deserves to RIP, how far you've been should not be a consideration of guaranteed peace, folks do stuff because they want or need to, and deserve respect, for their thought pattern on any given day, but they probably don't deserve to rest in peace, more or less than anyone else. Life choices should not depict a pecking order.
