Some dog owners, who have to leave their animals in, for work reasons, etc., might try popping a note through the letter boxes, of aging locals, to see if they would like the company of a dog, for a day or so.

I'd quite happily do that occasionally, having always had dogs until it became impractical.

Note:- Don't mention this to my daughter who runs a dog walking business!
