This is good advice ... writing things down ... reading though it in a different light ... writing comments/answers.

And it's great for when you wake with an idea.

I read an interview years a go with one of those Pink Floyd chappies, asked where he got his ideas from, said he writes down his dreams when he wakes in the morning.

I sometime wake with a tune in my head, don't know where it came from, probably someone else's tune. I guess I could have a dictaphone next to my bed but never got around to it.

And I once read that Elvis Costello carries a dictaphone in when walking around town, singing to himself.

I don't think much of the concept of 'overthinking things' it is a phrase oven used by the younger generation who will happily rush into things without giving them due consideration.

For me it is important to think over every aspect of something and yes that can be me awake until the situation is resolved .

Now that IS clever. I have had a few dreams recently where I reckon I could have managed that.
