Irons that you put on a shelf in the open fire to heat up, then lift one at a time with a thick padded cloth to do the ironing - swap them over when it cooled down too much. Remember them?

Haha, I didn't use them, but I do just remember my mother having them when I was very young, probably 3 or 4.

Television sets with no remote controls. You actually had to get up from your chair and walk across the room to operate the set via controls attached to the tv. The first remote controls operated using a hand control connected to the tv with a long cable.
