Suni's aid reduction in the last budget would have reduced our 0.7% to around 0.5% of our GDP and THAT is still worth in the order of £10.5-11.0BILLION. If it were left to me, this money would be spent in the UK producing goods needed (and providing the necessary infrastructure) by the really needy countries rather than what the bleeding heart liberals and dodgy charities like Oxfam say they want to do with it.
Yes, bloody stupid ain't it Percy ??
We borrow it, to give to others ??
It wouldn't be so bad if we had money IN the bank !!
But we are bloody paupers ??

Yes, he is indeed a CaMoron.
Perhaps he's unaware that giving the money to the likes of Oxfam, it ends up in the bank balances of the rich directors of those charities; and sending the money directly to many third-world countries, especially in Africa, the money pays for dictators' new Rolls Royces and fine living.

Re: Theresa May comeback ??

It's all down to who you can rally behind you in order to get the power you need as an ambitious MP.

May was the heroine of the Remainers. She played with the words, in order to try to keep the Brexiteers to heel, but worked for a Remain solution. I think she still enjoys a large Remain support in the HOC.

Boris may have been a Remainer, as well, but his plan was to go with what he thought (correctly, as it turned out) was the Majority (Brexiteers).
That also got him through the election which followed.

Perhaps amusingly, they were both given the EU Brino package to muse over.

And here we are, still waiting at the Church!

Don't shout "But we're out" because there is a long way to go before we accept that idea fully!

Absolutely.

So we now have a party in government with a large (perhaps unassailable) majority, but who is working to avoid what the majority of voters demanded - Brexit.

Is this what we call democracy?

The fall of the Labour party is clearly a very mixed blessing.

We desperately need a political party which will respect the wishes of the majority of the electorate. There is at least one such alternative, but the other advantage the Conservatives possess is the sure knowledge that the British people will always vote for what they already know!

So it looks very much like we're going to be stuck with the half-in/half-out BRINO, along with all of its attendant problems.
