Re: When will GPs, dentists, Councils get back to normal?

It's only a problem where the work place is unionised.

Private healthcare doesn't cover specialised conditions anyway. They get to a point where they cannot help. Sure they have big shiny units but there's a level of complexity that's too high risk for them (unless you want to spend your own money and go somewhere like Switzerland or the US).

It's like a gravy train at the moment for digital solutions.

Dentist here is back to normal.

I have had a number of scans over the past month or two ,no problems there, must say I haven’t seen my GP or heart consultant, spoken to them on the phone, they just told me that ,if I have any problems, to ring straight away, I feel well looked after.

Other than the NHS you get what you pay for. In the case of the NHS you get what NICE or the local trust are prepared to give you and mostly at a higher cost than from the private sector. Going to the US for treatment - absolutely no way. Switzerland - now you're talking! Best of all - Israel.

The NHS I hold in high regard...I owe them my life, without them,I wouldn’t be here today,I’ve had excellent service all the way.

You're lucky that you didn't fall outside of the "treat" category and just get palliative care. A lot of people do as they age.

Why would I need palliative care, when I had problems, I don’t agree with anything you say here, especially about you only get palliative care, when you start aging, there were woman and men in the Brompton who were in their 80s having heart surgery.....I’ve never heard such tosh, I was also a carer , so have seen first hand how our service users were treated.

Really not sure where you live, sounds uncivilised to me..needs bringing up to standard.

Better re-read what I wrote.

A lot depends on the NHS trust that is delivering the care as well as the patients themselves. Fortunately we don't need to depend on the NHS which galls me somewhat because we get no tax rebate for paying for private cover. OK admittedly neither of us pay any tax but that's beside the point.
