Castor Oil tree.

It’s gone crazy again this year, I had to cut it down last year, that new growth, isn’t even a month old,

Been in the ground around 10 yrs, the frost damaged it quite badly this year, but, as you can see it has recovered.

The old leaves at the bottom, many fall off, hence the long type of trunk.

That’s exactly what my gardening friend told me, ST.

It’s a real beauty, the camera doesn’t give it justice. the old leaves will soon drop away, them I’m left with all of that new growth.

I never really watched its new growth growing before, am watching it carefully now, very interesting to watch it’s rate, I wonder if it will slow down, will post a pic in September,

The second photo - with the sun shining through the leaves - is lovely!

Re: Castor Oil tree.

I've got one of those Pauline I didnt know it was a Castor Oil Tree. Mine is in a pot I brought it with me from my last house I was a bit worried it might not thrive here but apart from a bit of frost damage it seems to be doing ok . Yours is lovely.
