Back to Pre-pandemic Levels

Some good news for the Australian economy.

Unemployment has dropped below pre-pandemic levels with more than 100,000 jobs created in May.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) estimated that 115,200 positions were added last month, dropping the jobless rate from 5.5 to 5.1 per cent.

Good news indeed Bruce.

As an aside, I watched a Grand Designs (Australia) a couple of days ago, which had been filmed throughout lockdown over here. No social distancing, plenty of hugging all round, no masks etc. Such a contrast to our (UK) experience.

There are a couple of cases of the Delta variant in Sydney escaped from hotel quarantine so they have had to start wearing masks on public transport for the next 5 days.
