Do you relax easily?

How easily can you let go and relax, totally chill for a short while?

Could you sit on a chair and do absolutely nothing, for just 10 minutes?
No telly on, no radio, no reading, and no playing with your mobile phone - just do nothing but be alone with your thoughts.

Would you find that hard to do, or would it be easy? Perhaps you might even meditate, and make the most of it before you started work again?
Others can't sit still for 5 minutues.

I suspect some would find it much harder than others.
Try it.

Very easily. I do yoga also and walk in nature every day . It’s very soothing to the soul.

Mostly, I'm relaxed all the time and find it easy to do nothing but, if I make the mistake of lying down (or even just leaning back in a chair) then I'm asleep within seconds, regardless of how much sleep that I've had previously .....

This probably due to the haemochromatosis gene that I've inherited - increasing age brings increasing lethargy and fatigue .....

Fortunately, anything that interests me usually keeps me awake .....

Re: Do you relax easily?

I love to be able to relax and do nothing but think. The trouble is depending on my mood those thoughts can lead to dark, scary ones. This always occurs if I'm at work and by myself in some isolated spot in the warehouse.

Otherwise, it's finding the time to be able to totally relax. I do have some "me time" which is essential to my wellbeing. No interruptions, nobody hassling me to do anything I don't want to do.

Funny you should ask that, Mupsy. Well not funny exactly but a coincidence.
I have been doing 10 minutes of meditation once or twice a day for the last two weeks.
Got it from a book. Apparently 10 minutes every day is the minimum to make a difference to your state of mind.
It'll take at least 8 weeks before one will notice any change says the man. So far it only has a calming effect for a short period.
Ask me again in 6 weeks time.

I can if I don't have a list of things that need doing for instance I couldn't relax in messy room I could only totally switch off in the right environment.

Re: Do you relax easily?

No problem here Mups in fact my favourite poem....

WHAT is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare?—
No time to stand beneath the boughs,
And stare as long as sheep and cows:
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass:
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night:
No time to turn at Beauty’s glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance:
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began?
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
